Vesta is one of nine puppies rescued from Manitoba with their mom after wildfires displaced them. Their mom, a gentle 40 lb dog, raised them safely under the care of a local rescue before they made their way to Ontario. Now that she’s old enough to begin her own journey, Vesta is ready to find her forever home.

Her foster describes Vesta as smart, sweet, and incredibly easygoing. She’s playful, affectionate, and one of the easiest pups they’ve ever had for potty training and behaviour. She’s already learning her house manners and has made impressive progress with outdoor potty breaks.

Vesta loves to explore, play with toys, and follow her foster around the house. She’s also working hard on crate training—currently enjoying her meals in the crate and short “sit-stay” sessions with treats to make it a positive experience. She’s starting to master the stairs and takes great pride in climbing up to bed at night.

She loves all people, dogs, and even cats! This sweet and playful first would make an amazing addition to any home.

Like most puppies, Vesta is still learning about the world and developing confidence in new environments. She’ll benefit from patient adopters who can offer continued structure, training, and positive reinforcement as she grows.

Vesta has a few minor health notes that her future family should be aware of. She has a small hernia that will be repaired during her spay, and our vet noted a mild heart murmur (grade 3/6), which is not uncommon in young pups and can often improve as they mature. She’ll be reassessed at her next appointment on November 12th. None of this slows her down, Vesta is a happy, energetic pup who’s busy enjoying puppyhood to the fullest.

Vesta would thrive in a loving, active home where she can play, learn, and be part of daily life. She’s gentle, friendly, and eager to please—everything you could hope for in a puppy.

If you’re ready to open your heart to a playful, affectionate girl who’s already well on her way to becoming the perfect companion, Vesta may be your match!

About YOU!

Puppies are a lot of work. At just 2 months old, we are looking for families with FLEXIBLE work schedules and the time and energy to invest in socialization and training. Yes they are tiny and oh-so-cute cute, but we can pretty much guarantee that they will:

- Pee and poop on your floor
- Chew your furniture
- Eat your designer handbag
- Ruin your leisurely Sunday morning sleep in

As a condition of the adoption contract, Vesta’s new family will be required to:

- Ensure she has an opportunity to go outside every 2-3 hours. If you work full time,
this means hiring a dog walker to come in 2x per day for a puppy visit
- Attend and complete a basic obedience class at your own cost (proof required).
- Provide plenty of socialization opportunities – both dog and human – it's important at this
stage.
- Spay/neuter within 6 mos of adoption. If done at our partner vet in Mississauga, the
spay/neuter will be included in the adoption fee. If you choose to do it elsewhere, it will
be done at your own cost. Proof of neuter is required to finalize the adoption.
