Camila (Foster-to-Adopt)
Camila’s Story
Camila is available for Foster to Adopt!
We'd love to welcome Camila into the Fetch + Releash family on March 14th. In order to secure a spot on the flight, she needs a committed foster-to-adopt family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take her home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found.
Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.
Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care.
During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.
Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies.

Camila / Female / 11 months old / 24 lbs and growing / Mixed Breed / From Mexico
Camila, lovingly nicknamed “Mini Labrador,” is a joyful, affectionate young pup who is ready to grow up in a home of her own. She’s a compact bundle of personality with a playful spirit and a big heart.
Camila came from a severely overcrowded home where resources were limited. Despite her start, she is happy, social, and full of life. She absolutely loves other dogs and does wonderfully with them. She has not been tested with cats and is looking for a cat-free home at this time.
In typical puppy fashion, Camila is still learning the ropes. She is not crate trained and her house training is a work in progress, but she settles easily and adapts well to routine with consistency.
This sweet girl is playful and curious, with a particular talent for digging holes purely for sport. She gives generous kisses and enjoys being held, happily soaking up affection whenever it’s offered. Her medium puppy energy means she’ll benefit from regular walks, playtime, and enrichment to keep her mind engaged.
Camila tested positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease. The infection is currently dormant, and many dogs live their entire lives without complications. As a precaution, it is recommended that she receive an annual 4DX blood test and a CBC/platelet count prior to any major surgery or dental procedures.
Camila would thrive in a home that can provide structure, continued training, and positive outlets for her playful nature. With consistency and love, she is sure to grow into a loyal and fun companion.
